Confession: I’m a tinkerer.
When it comes to me and projects, they’re never really finished. They’re always in process. I don’t remember the last time I finished a paper for school, a presentation, or even a sermon. They’re never done. Never. There just comes a time where they must be presented.
After all the work we put in over the last six months to launch this tour, I was convinced that next week would be the first presentation. But then y’all responded to an email (ONE EMAIL), in ways that I wasn’t expecting at all. It floored me. Honestly, I didn’t expect that level of excitement and support. The emails, calls, texts, and tickets bought exceeded my expectations for DAY ONE.
So….we got together as a team.
And I tinkered.
Just a bit.
Nothing major.
But just enough for us to rearrange a couple of the early dates in order to make sure that the first people to come out, get the same experience as the last.
My goal in wanting to start with ATL, DALLAS, and HOUSTON was to do a homecoming tour of sorts. Over the past 37.97 years that I’ve been alive on this earth, those are the cities that I’ve lived in (in reverse order). I wanted to land in Houston, on my birthday (July 23rd, 2022 —> the 20th anniversary of the year I left Houston). But after seeing the response yesterday, I wanted to make sure your experience matched my our expectations.
So we’re going to be starting with ATL in August and dedicate the month to The Gathering Spot dates. Then in September we’ll do Dallas, Houston, and a third city that wasn’t on yesterday’s flyer.
On one hand I want to say, sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. One the other hand I want to say, THANK YOU, for being the reason the inconvenience was caused.
Just like yesterday, I’ll make sure that y’all get first crack at the early bird tickets. And I’ll make sure that you get a little some extra for your inconvenience.
Thanks again for all the love y’all! The tickets will be back up in a few days!
Love y’all.
Peace,
John O
Ayyye!! If it happens, I will be there!! I moved up here July 2021. I met my fiancé on Joe’s Patreon and we’re getting married next year. Soon to be Mrs. Kuye! 👰🏽♀️ 🤵🏾♂️🇳🇬
I wish I could travel to those locations. I would’ve done a road trip from NY to DC, but it’s a weekday. Any who, I hope the turnout is GREAT and y’all have a fun time!!!
