Those 4 affirmations are helpful. Grounded in reality, yet not devoid of hope! I recently finished Good Boundaries and Goodbyes by Lysa Terkhurst, and there was one sentence that struck me like a brick: “Mental health is confronting reality at all cost.” I believe the fear in confronting reality (death, and so on) is the horror or being buried alive and thus being stuck under the weight of all that pain. But your image of roots, who have to be buried alive to grow, is a game changer. I will
be sharing this post with a few friends who are struggling with their realities right now. Appreciate you!
Thank you for sharing your meditation! We all will go through periods of feeling buried alive, but your reflection on roots gives hope to whatever we face.
Phew this is good. I've definitely felt this season of my life being one as if I'm being buried alive, yet I see that I'm also finding my roots. Thank you for sharing your wisdom primo!
Wow, John, this is a phenomenal distinction and image that is very helpful. It’s amazing to me how there is so much meaning beneath the ordinary things of life. Thanks bring this to light!
What a powerful picture of a hopeful disposition during seasons of "being buried"! Thank you for ministering to others out of your own suffering. This was a gift.
Full of heartache and hope. Thank you. I've tried to describe how I've been feeling lately and it is the “buried alive” word picture you created that resonates. 🙏🏿
there is a thing about trees that I love. the first half of their lives they are growing - taking in through their root system to nourish their growth. the second half they are dying - but we don’t witness that above ground, and below ground (buried alive) their roots system is feeding new trees around them. roots need to be buried to survive and sometimes what feels like overwhelm above ground could be time to take in - or give back w/in our networks. ♡

I feel like I stole the heartache and hope from someone else, so feel free to use it without citation!
So so good.
Thanks so much Ashley! Hope you're thriving in this season even if feeling buried alive.
Thank you! Very encouraging and it instilled hope in a dark place.
Blessings to you!
Exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Thank you.
…the juxtaposition of heartbreak and hope.
I don't know what has you feeling buried alive this morning, but I do want to remind you that you're not a corpse.

The difference between a corpse and a root. Whew!! 😰 That’s something to sit on and chew.
Recently listened to a message on Psalm 1. This was an encouraging tie in. Thank you!
good to have you back :)
